Singing bowls were traditionally used throughout Asia as part of certain types of Buddhist spiritual practice. Today they are employed worldwide by those from other spiritual traditions as well, for meditation, relaxation, healing, personal well-being, and spiritual practice.
Singing bowls were historically made in Tibet, Nepal, India, Bhutan, China, Japan, and Korea. The best known type are from the Himalayan region and are referred to as "Tibetan singing bowls."
