What is a Name?

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. Gen. 1:5

Names have vibrations - they convey energy both
on the personal level and on the level of the soul.

There are names given to us as children,
beautiful names, unusual names, karmic names
that connect us to the past of who we have been
and to the future of who we might be.

There are soul names that linger in the
shadows of consciousness that speak to us of our
point of origin before coming to the Earth and
convey to us a sense of home.

And then there are names that ring like a bell
in the air, that speak of our purpose for being here -
the one who does such-and-such .... he who stands for ....
These are the names of our calling
and they are deeply embedded in the soul.
They bring together our humanity and divinity
and help us to know that we are here to join them together.

Blessed are the names that bring truth,
for they connect the specific and transient
with the Nameless and Eternal.
